Trip to the Midwest for Christmas

Finally getting around to another blog post.  We have been very busy this last year.  I got a promotion and it has kept us busier than normal.  But we did our best to travel and visit people even though it was hard.

We visited Wisconsin for Christmas this year.  It was really hard though - we had to stay in a hotel that was not so pleasant.  Alex had a hard time having to drive back and forth every single day and we had almost no time to hang out with the people we really care about - we spent too many hours driving.

Here are some of the good things about the trip.

Alex loved this toy and was ready to play with it right away. He could hardly wait for us to put it together.

Here is Alex and Grandpa Duggan putting the toy together.

Alex and Maggie loved the Potatohead :)

Charlie and Woodie enjoying the festivities.

Mary looking at her present. :)

Alex enjoying his new record player - he loves music.

The Fabulous Four ( Can you believe they are all related? )

Ok - now for the part where we stayed in Chicago.

Alex enjoying a break at the hotel.

Alex was very tired when we visited the Art Museum.

Alex eagerly awaiting the show at the Shedd Aquarium - he was grumpy and wanted to run out and get the Penguins.

Mom and Alex enjoying some hot chocolate at a restaurant after a long day.

It was a tough trip and I think we learned a lot about ourselves during the trip. This should be a good year and it will be fun to walk Alex as he grows and learns to talk. He is a great kid and is growing up quickly.
